Easy Rider Bike Destroyed In Fire

One of two bikes recognized as the Captain America ride from “Easy Rider” has been destroyed in an Austin, Texas, fire.

Austin Fire Investigators battled fire at a storage facility full of classic cars and bikes Monday afternoon after neighbors reported a grass fire by the facility.

Witnesses told KVUE they heard an explosion coming from the storage building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage is estimated at $100,000 to the structure, and $1 million for contents.

Legendary Motorcycles author Basem Wasef says on his blog says two alleged Captain America bikes are endorsed as authentic by Dan Haggerty (TV’s “Grizzly Adams”) who handled the bike during the film’s production:. One belongs to J&P Cycle’s John Parham and the other, lost in the fire, was owned by Gordon Granger.
